How to maintain the hydraulic power pliers?

The working principle of the hydraulic power tong is as follows: It transmits the power of the workover rig to the hydraulic motor of the hydraulic power tong, which then passes through a stroke reducer and either two-stage or one-stage deceleration to make the jaw opening gear rotate, generating two speeds (high and low) to drive the pipe (drilling tool) to rotate. When the jaw opening gear rotates, the plate frame initially does not rotate under the braking action of the brake hammer, creating a relative movement between the jaw opening gear and the palate frame. As a result, the two rollers of the palate climb up the slope plate and force the tong teeth on the palate to move toward the pipe (drilling tool) until they clamp tightly onto it. Then, together with the jaw opening gear, they drive the pipe (drilling tool) to rotate.

Maintenance methods for hydraulic power tongs:
1.Before the hydraulic power tong starts working, check whether the fastening screws are loose. If so, tighten them.
2.After each handling, clean the main tong and backup tong bodies with kerosene or diesel, and inject grease into the oil nozzles of the machine body.
3.After cleaning the tong head of the hydraulic power tong, lubricate the jaw plates, jaw plate frames, and the gear teeth.
4.If the jaw of the hydraulic power tong fails to open due to insufficient braking force, adjust the braking pressure by slightly tightening the bolts. Be careful not to over-tighten them to avoid overheating of the friction plates.
5.After each use of the hydraulic power tong, inspect the tong body. If there is accumulated water or oil stain, remove them in time.
6.Do not clean the tongs with steam, to prevent oil leakage and water ingress in the bearings, which may damage the necessary parts.
7.The temperature of the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic power tong must not exceed 65℃. Overheating will cause the seals of the hydraulic system to fail.
8.Keep the hydraulic oil clean and ensure the oil filter is in normal working condition. If the oil is dirty, it needs to be replaced promptly.
